This edition of the 50th Metro Manila Film Festival is brimming with big stars, and big productions.
On the other hand, Regal Entertainment‘s “My Future You” confidently gambled on emerging stars and love-team FranSeth.
My first impression from the trailer was that it’s just a simple a feel-good romantic movie for teenagers with an interesting time-twist element. So I joined their block screening earlier today with moderate expectations.
I WAS WRONG. Director Crisanto Aquino‘s storytelling was very good and the plot twists were not that predictable. The sequences unfolded with the right mix of slow and fast paces.
Both main stars Francine Diaz and Seth Fedelin, in whose lives the the whole movie revolved in, actually already have depth in their acting. While relatively young in the industry, they were already mature in their craft.
Needless to say, Regal Entertainment Inc.’s My Future You exceeded my expectations. This is despite the fact that I already got a glimpse of the movie last month when I attended their press launch. Beyond the movie trailer, it hits different after watching the whole film.
There is so much to be learned and realized through the soul – either as an individual waiting for someone in their life, or a family member who wishes to change something / someone. Sometimes we don’t realize that’s there’s no need to change anything in our situation, just ourselves, and our hearts.💔
“… kailangan lang makontento at mahalin ang mga nagmamahal sa iyo. ” [ we just meed to be contented and learn to love those who love us as well]
In our lives , we may have a lot of “what ifs“, wishing for this and that; and hoping for a better situation. But one thing is already sure – the people in our present – love them, and appreciate them now, not tomorrow, not in the future.
We are rating MMFF‘s ‘My Fture You‘ with:
- 8/10
- Highly Recommended
