Star-studded and front-runner in the 50th Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF), ‘Uninvited‘ was the first film we watched earlier today – Christmas Day.
For the unfamiliar, today is the first day of the MMFF. What made this edition more special is that it’s their 50th anniversary.

Uninvited gathered some of the most iconic Philippine actors and actresses led by Vilma Santos, Aga Muhlach, and Nadine Lustre. And supported by an impressive lineup that includes RK Bagatsing, Mylene Dizon, Lotlot de Leon, Gabby Padilla, Elijah Canlas, Ketchup Eusebio, Gio Alvarez, Cholo Barretto, Ron Angeles, and Tirso Cruz III.
Uninvited, Unexpected
The movie fulfilled its promise of being a thriller, drama, and mystery movie.
“Hindi lang ’to basta party!”– Guilly Vega (antagonist)
Indeed, it wasn’t just a party (‘hindi lang ‘to basta party!’) as the main characters including Eva Candelaria (Vilma Santos), Guilly Vega (Aga Muhlach), Nicole Vage (Nadine Lustre) either have deep stories behind their smiles, or dark secrets not fit for the public eye.

Vilma was in here element in this movie as she exacted revenge on the villains. You will get to feel her wrath, several times.
But what I find more riveting is the interesting character of Guilly. For so long, Aga Muhlach was almost always the matinee idol in Philippine cinema, the protagonist. So what he showed in this movie was a noteworthy antagonist, a different take on what Aga can offer his fans and viewers.
Nadine Lustre was equally sharp in her performance. I just hoped she had more scenes and lines, even with the other characters like equally talented Mylene Dizon.

Feel free to ‘gatecrash‘ the ‘Uninvited‘ movie in Philippines theaters nationwide in this milestone 50th MMFF until early January!
