Mr. Rillo has been generally silent about the matter, until tonight – the last day of the campaign season, in this sudden press conference in Quezon City – in the midst of a number of journalist and bloggers including Good News Manila.

The first media question was asked by GMA’s Lhar Santiago, to which the congressman answered directly. Rillo emphasized that he will make sure that the other group’s libelous public statements will have its time in the proper courts so as not to be repeated to other people.

When asked why he categorically spoke about this belatedly, Rillo admitted that he doesn’t want to give the other party what they wanted – for him to give his rebuttal, so the accusers will have more materials to respond to.

Hindi natin papalagpasin yun, I would like to assure…that I will file a libel case against this institution… No one has the right na siraan ang kapwa niya kung walang konkretong ebidensya” – Cong. Rillo
