It is in the times of divisiveness where friendship and camaraderie are further solidified.
The Federation of Filipino Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Inc. (FFCCCII) and other major Filipino Chinese community associations, such as the Filipino Chinese Amateur Athletic Federation (FCAAF) and others, the Manila City government and the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) shall spearhead a pre-Independence Day civic walk called “FFCCCII Lakad Magkaibigan”
Set on June 9, 2024 – Sunday at 6am – the first ever “Lakad Magkaibigan” shall begin at the Binondo Intramuros Bridge at Binondo, Manila and finish at the Bonifacio and Katipunan Revolution Shrine fronting Padre Burgos Avenue, Manila.
In the recent media conference held at Luxent Hotel, FFCCCII President Dr. Cecilio K. Pedro said: “Our walk will bring together participants from the Filipino Chinese community, business and civic organizations, barangays, colleges, and schools. This occasion is a shared celebration of our Philippine Independence Day, aimed at expressing our love for our country and fostering patriotism among our citizens.”
There, a flower offering, a flag-raising ceremony, and a short program, will follow thereafter.
Furthermore, simultaneously, the FFCCCII Lakad Magkaibigan will be conducted in Bacolod City, Cebu, Tacloban, and Palawan.
“This occasion is a shared celebration of our Philippine Independence Day, aimed at expressing our love for our country and fostering patriootism among our citizens. We honor the sacrifices of our forefathers and the brave men and women who have served our country throughout the centuries to keep our nation free,” added Dr. Cecilio Pedro
